We have been closely involved with nature conservation for many years gaining wide experience in many areas including:
Clients find it especially valuable to be able to visit the farm, or projects that we have undertaken for others, to see what they might be able to achieve at home.
We have advised on and implemented a wide range of schemes including
- Paddock Hedges
- Hedge and Parkland trees
- Garden Bank or a drive-side
- From tiny patches of wildflowers on a garden bank to hundreds of acres of flower-rich meadow.
Should you have a hedge that has got out of hand don't despair! Indeed do not set about it until you are quite clear of the options open to you for its restoration. We can talk you through the alternatives and are always happy to involve clients in such work. They often enjoy the opportunity, challenge and satisfaction of learning new skills.
We offer training courses for Coppicing, Pruning, and Hedge Laying. Plus Plant, Tree, Butterfly and Moth identification. For sessions for groups, individuals or families please contact us. An important part of our service is to offer ongoing maintenance or just guidance over the phone. Plus we are involved in the Woodland Training Course project.
Should you be keen to develop any part of your property for the benefit of wildlife we'd be pleased to encourage and help you; perhaps involving your children too? Alternatively you may wish to identify trees or shrubs in your garden or want advice with pruning. Help with choosing, sourcing and deciding on best position and spacing of new and interesting species might also be valuable? It is so easy not to foresee the longer term implications of today's choice! And we should not under-estimate the influence of climate change.
